INSTRUMENT MATERIAL

STAINLESS STEEL

The name Stainless Steel originates from the fact that stainless steel does not stain, corrode, or rust as easily as ordinary steel. This material is also called corrosion-resistant steel. We utilise only the highest-grade stainless-steel alloys with high Chromium and Carbon contents in our PREMIUM ONYX lines. These resist temperatures of up to 400°C.

TITANIUM

Titanium is a very light, strong, and lustrous white metal - less than half of the weight of steel. One of titanium's most notable characteristics is that it is as strong as steel but is only 60 percent of its density. This lightweight provides better flexibility and strength and decreases user fatigue. It is totally resistant to corrosion from Nitric Acid, Chloride and Salt Water, with a heat resistance of up to 430°C.

TUNGSTEN CARBIDE

Tungsten Carbide is among the most rigid materials known and is sometimes called a "man-made diamond". Tungsten Carbide inserts are used in surgical instruments to enhance their performance and longevity. Tungsten Carbide needle holders and forceps grasp more securely and are more durable than their stainless-steel counterparts.

Tungsten Carbide scissors and bone rasps cut better and need much less sharpening than similar conventional instruments. Typically, a pair of Tungsten Carbide scissors may last up to 1.9 times as long as a stainless steel pair.
